CARNEVALE SITE SUITABLE FOR NEW MIDDLE SCHOOL.(MAIN)

In reaction to the preferred justification for taking park land to build a school -- there is nowhere else in Albany to build -- Westland Hills neighborhood suggested the Carnevale supermarket site, a location superior to the park in terms of traffic access and one that provides an opportunity for reclamation of land as green space.

This suggestion was rejected almost immediately. The reason given? The site was less than 16 acres and formerly used for commercial purposes.
