NSW: Man accused of killing family appears in court

SYDNEY, Aug 14 AAP - A 21-year-old law student accused of killing his mother, fatherand sister made a brief video link appearance in a Sydney court today.

Sef Gonzales, who in earlier court appearances pleaded not guilty to three counts ofmurder, did not apply for bail and it was formally refused.

Central Local Court magistrate Ian Barnett granted an extension of time for the prosecutionto serve Gonzales' lawyers with the brief of evidence.

The matter will return to court on October 9.

Gonzales is the sole survivor of his immediate family after his parents and sisterwere stabbed to death in their North Ryde home last July.

The body of his solicitor father Teddy, 46, was found in the foyer.

His mother Loiva, 43, was in the living room and his 18-year-old sister, Clodine, wasin her upstairs bedroom.

Both women had their throats slashed.
